Women continue to face systemic barriers in accessing timely, affordable, and helpful health education and mental health support. Statistics Canada reported that 38.5% of girls and young women aged 15 to 29 met the criteria for at least one mental health or substance use disorder in 2022, yet only 54.6% of those individuals accessed formal supports. These gaps are compounded by income, race, disability, gender-based barriers, and lack of access to culturally safe or affordable resources. Our programs help to address these disparities and provide educational materials to empower women about their health and well-being.

Women’s Empowerment Series: Expected to launch in September 2026

Each year, the Lilac and Leaf Foundation for Women’s Health launches its Women’s Empowerment Series , a 8-month collection of monthly seminars, workshops, and live educational sessions designed to support, educate, and connect women across Canada. These sessions take place from September-May.

Each month focuses on a dedicated theme in women’s health, including mental health, nutrition, reproductive health, emotional well-being, and other topics that impact women’s lives. Through our online platform, members receive full access to these sessions, creating an accessible space for learning, reflection, and community support.

Our sessions are facilitated by qualified professionals in their respective fields, offering evidence-informed education, practical tools, and meaningful insights. The goal of the Women’s Empowerment Series is to help women better understand their health, feel more confident in their wellness journey, and connect with a supportive community of women who uplift and empower one another.
